Biography:

Michael Freeman is a Brighton based underground house/techno DJ & producer.

Born & raised in Oxford, Michael spent all his spare time and money in the now late Massive Records. It was here where he first discovered underground dance music. He soon found that his main love lied in techno and the more stripped back grooves that have now become the main focal point of his DJ sets.

Having collected a healthy collection of records, Michael packed his bags and set off for Brighton to study Music Production. He was excited by the prospect of creating something out of nothing and that was unique and different every time.

Graduating in the summer of 2009 with a first class honours degree for his album 'cavalry was to become his signature sound and Its clear Michael likes the weird and mysterious side of house and techno. His embrace of technology and to constantly explore new grounds is typical not only of his productions, but also his DJ sets.

Having played at most of Brighton's clubs including a residency at Concorde 2, Michael has also had club promoters book him at Stealth in Nottingham, and well respected clubs in London including Heaven & Corsica Studios.

Whether its warm up, peak time or after hours, Michael has the ear and knowledge to deliver what the crowd desires.

Yes, White Label are taking over the basement for what's gonna be one heck of a party. To mark our debut we have the very talented DJ ISIS making the trip over from Amsterdam!

Roll up! The first Showtime event of the year opens it’s doors on Saturday 6th February, when Egg welcome back three regular musical outfits to host the proceedings… This Showtime party is in celebration of all things Casino, Vegas, & Monte Carlo. Our ‘house’ will include roulette tables, mystery, and lots of fun and games to chance your fortune, all set within a fabulously decorated backdrop to ensure decadence prevails… Will lady luck be with you tonight? One thing is assured and that is the quality of the music that has been programmed…

The Brighton based White Label collective take over the basement, continuing their mission to push emerging artists and rising stars onto the global radar. The first visitor is very special guest ISIS. ISIS is now considered amongst the world’s Top Ten female tech house dj’s. She has performed in some of the globes finest venues and parties namely The End (London), Cocoon (Frankfurt), Amnesia (Ibiza), Space (Ibiza), DC10 (Ibiza), Rex (Paris), Tresor and E-werk (Berlin), and Fuse (Brussels) as well as regular trips to festivals such as Creamfields, Glastonbury, Manumission, 10 Days Off , Dance Valley, Mayday, Love Parade and many more… Her productions can be heard on her own record label, All Is One, of which have found their way into the cream of house/techno djs boxes. Isis will be joined by the South coast trio of PJ Davy, Michael Freeman, & Col-ez, alongside Egg/Trade resident, Lady Bianca.

Returning to the terrace are the clandestine Italian collective, Vertigo, who once again bring their sophisticated electronic sounds to the fore. Headlining the terrace and joining the trio of Davide Zeta, Max, and Julius is very special guest, Dorian Paic. One of dance music’s finest DJ’s, Dorian‘s outstanding performances has won him admires from all corners of the globe, thanks to his groovy, underground house sound. From his first stint at the infamous Dorian Grey Club, it wasn’t long before he had residencies at leading parties such as Monza, Cocoon, Spectrum, & Raum, the latter of which he heads the labels A&R department releasing music from leading luminaries such as Christian Burkhardt, Reboot, Sascha Dive, Sweet N Candy, Dub Kult, and Guillaume and the Coutu Dumonts amongst many others. This man has got the funk, we can’t wait to welcome him to the floor!

Popcox take control of the Loft injecting the fun into the party. In their own words, “do you still have the bottle to dance like no-one’s watching? If you happen to be in the room while POPCOX is on the decks, expect to be scowled at, winked at, bitten, chewed up and spat out in a musical fiesta of phat funk-laden disco, electro and house music carefully selected to make you boogie so hard yo’ gonna ache all next week girl!” Their friendly DJ family and special guests will be making sure you enjoy…

There will be complimentary cocktails and canapés served for the early arrivals, and as always, we encourage you to bring some dressing up fun to the party so think all things Vegas and Monte Carlo! We hope to see you there!

New to WL roster....ALEX DOWNEY!!!

White Label are proud to announce that Brighton Techno DJ Alex Downey has joined the roster.

Alex Downey has been supporting the UK electronic underground movement as a DJ, record-shop manager and now radio presenter for nearly 15 years. Based in Brighton on the south coast of England, he is arguably the city's most prominent purveyor of all things Techno, where he is a regular fixture at the premier high profile events, alongside acts such as Underground Resistance and Derrick May.

As the main driving force behind the counter at Brighton's highly respected and much-missed [covert] record store & web-site, he was instrumental in bringing quality Techno & House to the city - and beyond, developing along the way a boundless knowledge, vast record collection and infectious passion for the music that's unmatched by most.

His musical taste & experience speaks for itself and his nocturnal activities behind the decks have earned him much respect and a great reputation amongst the global electronic community. He has been invited to perform at many key events such as ‘Free-rotation’ in Wales,'The Big Beat Boutique' & 'Stompa-phunk' in Brighton, 'Retro_vert' & 'Wiggle' in London, ‘Labyrinth’ festival & ‘Haus-Tek’ in Tokyo, and at many other far-flung destinations, hundreds of smaller parties and long-forgotten club nights that rocked hard, and kept the lifeblood of the scene pumping.

He is currently resident DJ at 'Our Friends Electric' in Brighton as well as the 'Split' / 'B A L A N C E' parties in London where he has recently shared the stage with Red-shape, Dave Clarke, Robert Hood, Luke Slater and Carl Craig, to name a few. You can also hear him spin on the ‘Split Show’ - a globally syndicated online radio show with a large number of keen listeners worldwide that he co-presents alongside techno legend Ben Sims [www.splitmusic.net].

Alex’s energetic style and enthusiasm for all things deep & electronic are sure to bring some magic to the party and are matched only by his razor-sharp DJ skills. One of the UK’s treasures, solidly and confidently attending to business while other media-hyped storms have come and gone.
