Biography

PJ Davy

After a false start buying Bombalurina's 'Itsy Bitsy Teenie Weenie Yello Polka Dot Bikini', PJ Davy was guided away from the sounds of novelty chart success by his dear granddad and introduced to 'Mars' by Holst, which has remained a huge influence, since then he's developed a love for music of all genres At first attracted to the darker and heavier side of music, listening to artists such as Depeche Mode, Metallica,  David Bowie and Deftones, it was at the age of 14 that PJ's life was changed forever when he first heard 'Chemical Beats' by the Chemical Brothers. It immediately made an impact and shortly afterwards PJ was introduced to a tracker program on the PC, which was his first glimpse into the world of music production.

After a many years discovering the many aspects of electronic music and learning the basics, PJ Davy was introduced to the production tool 'Reason' which has formed the backbone of his productions ever since. Using the idea that anything goes and the rule book should not apply, PJ draws influence from all his favourite music to create whatever feels right at the time. Main influences are Leftfield, Underworld, Chemical Brothers and Takkyu Ishinu. Artists that have made an impression most recently include Boards Of Canada, LCD Soundsystem, Ulrich Schauss, Bibio and Susumu Yokota.

It's been over two years since PJ Davy has been on the scene, but has since built a new studio and taken the opportunity to step back and take time to develop his sound into something more energetic, with more funk and more melody, yet still as deep as he's ever been. PJ will be bringing this same hypnotic energy to the clubs, with his DJ sets and an ableton live performance which is currently in development.
